Dr. Sunga is a long-time resident of southern San Diego County and a graduate of Bonita Vista High School. She attended the University of California at Los Angeles, where she received a B.S. in Biology and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Sunga went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from UCLA, one of the top dental institutions in the country. Dr. Sunga continued her education to receive her Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, a prestigious Ivy League institution. Here, she spent two years of specialized academic and clinical instruction on orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Dr. Sunga is a board-certified orthodontic specialist and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, California Association of Orthodontists American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the San Diego Dental Society. Dr. Sunga was also featured as one of San Diego’s esteemed Top Dentists in the May 2007 issue of San Diego Magazine, and also as one of America’s Top Dentists in 2008, awarded by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.
